Dr. Kirschenbaum – Revolutionizing the knee replacement

Knee injuries or even knee deterioration due to arthritis become more common as you get older. Usually, this leads to a complete replacement of your knee, which obviously has its drawbacks. Ira Kirschenbaum specializes in knee replacements and the reconstruction of joints and how to minimize the invasiveness. There is a video online depicting the process of an alternative to a full knee replacement surgery.

In the video, we see a patient talk about how his knee injury formed and what was being done to correct the injury. For the past twenty-five years, Robert has followed an active lifestyle that slowly wore away at his knee over time. Resorting to over the counter medication, such as Advil, Robert realized that even though these pills may help in the short term he still needed to take them constantly throughout the day and it wasn’t a solution.

Typically, knee replacements take quite a bit of time to recover from while causing a lot of trauma to the affected area as well as a lot of time off work. This isn’t ideal and along with the trauma they bring there is a chance of the knee replacement needed to be replaced in the future, adding more trauma to the equation. Dr. Ira Kirshcenbaum is an orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in joint replacement and was able to help Robert get the work done he needed.

This is where the alternative procedure would come into play; a partial knee replacement. As the knee has three compartments not all of it needs to be replaced if the injury is only in a particular area of the knee. You can just shave away the affected area and replace and reinforce that section of the knee. This procedure also lessens trauma to the area as you’re only replacing the injured area. Keep in mind that this procedure works best if you suffer from osteoporosis, if you have rheumatoid arthritis in the knee then a full knee replacement is most likely going to be recommended.

Guilherme Paulus Extends His Entrepreneurship To The Hospitality Industry

Even after establishing Brazil’s largest tour company, Guilherme Paulus isn’t ready to throw in the towel yet. He is actively seeking to establish a chain of luxury hotels across the country that the longtime entrepreneur says aligns with his lifetime goal of ‘serving customers well.’ The first phase of this new project will involve setting up 20 hotels in over 11 states in Brazil at an estimated cost of R $600 million. But what is the story behind the R $6.35 billion CVC empire?

Guilherme’s career and the founding of CVC

Paulus started off as a computing professional working with IBM as a trainee. The entrepreneur, however, confesses that while computing and the short stint at the company taught him a lot, it didn’t sound interesting and satisfying. He would leave IBM for a sales position with a tour company. While here he noted that while the trips organized by the company always turned out successful, most weren’t enjoyable.

He set out on a mission of bringing fun to these trips, starting with a trip to Buenos Aires with French companions. Guilherme Paulus helped set up a series of several engaging activities that helped bring life to the event. He reckons that it went on successfully and that the clients had already booked another trip with his company by the end of the Buenos tour.

Big Break

Working with the tour operator exposed him to different clientele with whom they shared ideas and one such acquaintance challenged him to set up his own tour and travel company. He would, however, sit on the thought for over six months before drafting a business plan and quitting his sales job to start CVC tour and travel agency. The company has gone on to become the biggest in Brazil and one of the most popular tour companies in the world.

More about Guilherme Paulus

In 2017, Guilherme Paulus was named the country’s Top Seller during the annual Top Seller Event hosted by RCI Brazil. Paulus is the founder and chairman to the board of CVC Company, a Latin American tour and travel agency currently considered the market leader for the South American region. He is also the founder and president of the newly established GJP Hotels Network, a chain of hotels operating in Brazil. Guilherme’s entrepreneurial skills and the success of these two brands has helped him accumulate considerable resources that in turn helped him feature on the Forbes global list of billionaires. According to Forbes, Guilherme currently holds position 1268.

Luiz Carlos Trabuco Helps Guide Bradesco To Great Success

Groupo Bradesco ranks as one of the largest private banking institutions in the country of Brazil. The bank currently has more than $400 million under management and has more than 5,000 local branches throughout the country. Since the 2015 acquisition of HSBC Brazil, Bradesco has gained a strong lead over all other banks in the country.

All of this is taking place under the wise leadership of Luiz Carlos Trabuco, one of the most renowned bankers in the entire country. Late in 2017, Trabuco announced that he would be finally leaving the post of the presidency of the bank. He said that he would be assuming the role of the chairman of the board of directors for the bank, replacing the outgoing Lazaro Brandao, who had been with the firm for more than 70 years.

As the chairman of the board, he has stated that he will continue providing the same quality of leadership that has won him so much respect and admiration throughout the banking community and in the country at large.

Under Trabuco’s leadership, Bradesco grew from a minor second-tier bank into one of the most important financial conglomerates in all of Latin America. He was able to win the Isto E Dinhiero 2015 Entrepreneur of the Year Award for the acquisition of HSBC Brazil, which turned out to be the largest deal ever put together in the history of Brazilian business. Also during his tenure, Trabuco oversaw a huge rebound in the stock price of the bank. At one point towards the end of 2015, the stock price was trading as low as $3 per share. But by the end of Trabuco’s presidency at the helm of the bank, the stock was back trading towards almost all-time highs. This represented an increase in the total market capitalization of the bank of billions of dollars.

He first came to work at Bradesco in the year 1969 when he was just 18 years old. Since then, he has spent his entire career climbing the corporate ladder at the bank, going from the lowliest position at the firm all the way to its most exalted office. This extensive experience has given he a first-hand appreciation for how the business should be conducted at every level of its operations. Simply put, there is no one with more hands-on banking experience in the entire country than him.

As he continues to lead Bradesco into the future, things are looking up for the bank.

Trabuco; The Answer to Most Questions in Ancient Combat

Once, long ago, there was a weapon that made whole armies quake in fear, so much so, it is reported, that some even retreated before it saw use on the battlefield. Inspired by the design of The Catapult, the weapon itself may have been one of the first recorded examples of psychological warfare in the ancient world, as the shape of it alone forced those about to be inflicted with it’s power to reckon with their own mortality. The Trabuco was a terrifying addition to any seizing army, and a powerful defensive tool when placed along fortress walls, and castle outposts.

First developed by the Chinese during the Mongol invasions, the Trabuco saw use for its effective ability to level walls and crush buildings with the massive stones the weapon threw. The Trabuco was bought to Europe, where it would see wide use in rivaling kingdoms, and in the crusades, by Russian traders sometime around the year 600 B.C. In Europe the Trabuco would be employed by a variety of different warriors in a variety of different ways. Instead of loading the Trabuco with a boulder to crush fortification, Brazilian armies would load the sling with a plethora of different objects to use the weapon in an early shotgunesque manner.

Richard the Lionheart made use of two separate Trabuco’s during the attack on Acre. He even gave the weapons names himself; calling them ‘God’s Own Catapult’ and ‘Bad Neighbor’. The Trabuco would serve as the deployment device in what is perhaps the world’s oldest example of germ warfare, when in the crusades armies used them to lobe the bodies of plague ridden dead into enemy encampments. By the rise of the age of firearms, Trabuco’s had all but vanished from combat, with the exception of a Trabuco used in Cortez’s attack on the Aztec capital in 1521, when it infamously fell apart during battle.

The American Institute of Architects and its Leadership

In 1857, the American Institute of Architects was founded in New York by almost 13 architects who had a vision of promoting applied perfection and make architecture a career to desire and a dream. During that time the president of the institute was Richard Upjohn. American Institute of Architects has its headquarters at New York Avenue and also has a central point in Washington D.C.

Members of the institution are divided into five categories namely;

  1. Architect members who have licenses to practice architecture in the USA.

  1. Associate members who are specially licensed but are dong contracts under the strict supervision of an American Architect in a specialized or technical level and have degrees in architecture they could be interns.

  1. International Associate members that have architecture license that is from a licensing authority outside the country.

  1. Emeritus member has been an AIA member for more than 15 years and are 65 years of age and can no longer work as an architect due to age.

  1. Allied members are the ones that their professions are related to the building and design industry. They can include engineers, planners, interior designers, manufacturers and research companies.

People who have made enormous contributions toward the goals of the AIA are usually awarded a prestigious honor called the Fellow of the American Institute of Architects. The membership only goes to the members who are of national significance.

Robert Ivy is the CEO if the institute and his wisdom have elevated him to the position. He can talk about a wide range of factors that affect the architects, but he only stresses that the members need to be innovative and share ideas with software programmers.

Ivy believes that architecture affects different areas in the world and he knows that the field can provide solutions in times of disaster and also improve health by organizing household well.

Regarding architecture providing an excellent solution to public health, Robert Ivy says that first, it was because of this field that draining of swamps became possible in the past. The famous Central Park had a motive of removing lousy housing in New York, and it was not primarily a recreational area. He goes on to say that if architecture is not adequately exploited, non-communicable diseases will thrive in the population. Conditions like high blood pressure, diabetes, and heart disorders can arise if people do not make buildings with staircases. His intelligence is high in maters architecture, and he is proud of how America is ahead in the field.

The Future of the US Auto Industry and Food Industry, According to Paul Mampilly

Paul Mampilly is a charismatic American hedge fund investor, financial analyst, and a published financial author. In 2016, Mampilly single-handedly transformed the erstwhile struggling investment periodical, Sovereign Society, into a globally acclaimed newsletter called Profits Unlimited. Once mainstream investors got wind of the announcements that Mampilly had started Profits Unlimited, they trooped in large numbers. By mid-2017, the Banyan Hill, Florida-based Publishing firm, Profits Unlimited saw its membership grow to hit the 90,000 paying subscribers.

As expected, all the entry-level and the seasoned investors who heeded the systematically researched tips, pointers released by Paul Mampilly went ahead to earn impressive returns on all of their investments. The clients managed to do the outright impossible by breaking-even when the rest of the markets were in a complete state of disarray. Other companies where Mampilly has seemingly pulled a rabbit-out-of-the-hat move include, the $6 billion valued, Kinetics International Fund.

Amazing Track Record

Mr. Mampilly was one of the handful of geniuses Wall Street investors who called the US Housing Bubble of ’08 before it actually hit. Speaking of leading business shows on mainstream media channels like CNBC, Bloomberg, and Fox Business, Paul has repeatedly said that it takes more than plain luck to accurately predict dips and rises in the markets. Success hinges on the intense and in-depth research you have working for you, as you made the final verdict of whether to exit or to double up on the particular stocks and shares.

Picking Food Preferences Stocks

According to Paul Mampilly, food preference stocks represent one of the hottest investment stock and shares picks in 2017 and beyond. Paul knows all too well the insatiable appetite millennials have for healthy and nutritious fast food deliveries. Most of them are most certainly going to be attracted in investing in a pizza delivery company over trading Coca-Cola shares, any given day. Additionally, there’s tons of money to be made in stocks involving groceries, for instance, Amazon and Subway.

Paul Mampilly on the Auto Industry

The traditional global automobile industry is currently in what Paul calls an ‘iPhone moment’. According to Paul, companies like Chrysler, Ford, and Toyota will be the biggest casualties of the developments brought by the electric car revolution. Ford and Toyota are going to be rendered obsolete by the Tesla electric cars, just like traditional mobile phones became irrelevant when the first iPhone smartphones dropped.
